Number of Trainees: 1 to 4 trainees per session.
Prerequisites: GMT-2 in related RPG format, and 250+ hours related GM experience.
Post-training test: Yes (multiple-choice, fill in the blank, matching, short essay, long essay, project paper). Require 90%+ test score to receive certificate.
Training Certification Received: GMT-3 in specific format.
Details: This program is only available to established care professionals.
This program includes:
- Background refresher and RPG advocacy (1 hour).
- Three sessions of hands-on interactive guidance running groups of 1 or more players through one or more various "standard" adventure scenarios. (9 hours).
- Processing and feedback on GMT candidates performance for each session (3 hours)
- Two sessions of hands-on interactive guidance running groups or 1 or more players through two provided "therapeutic" adventure scenarios (6 hours).
- Processing and feedback on GMT candidates performance for each session (2 hours).
- In depth discussion on considerations for providing RPG sessions in the related format in a therapeutic setting for a variety of specific client needs (4 hour).
- RPG adaptations and consideration for specific special needs populations (2 hours).
- Integrating the RPG Therapy Handbook of Practice into develop program plans, using WHO ICD/ICF codes. (2 hours)
- Additional considerations on integrating an RPG program plan into your current facility (1 hour).
- Building on all the above, create 1 short adventure to achieve client-specific goals (4 hours).
- Critique and feedback on, and any necessary revision of the short adventure design (2 hours).
- Building on all the above, create a moderate length campaign to achieve the specific goals of a mixed client base (4 hours).
- Run abbreviated sample version of the campaign setting over two separate sessions (6 hours).
- Critique and feedback on, and any necessary revision of the campaign design (4 hours).
Training includes introductory interactive participation in one of 4 RPG formats:
- Tabletop (TRPG)
- Live-action (LARP)
- Solo and group computer-based (CRPG)
- Solo adventure books and modules (SRPG).
Note: Training can be delivered either as seven day-long (7 hour) sessions, or 13 half-day (4 hour) sessions. All training must take place within a contiguous 3 week period.
* Teleconference training is not available for LARP or TRPG certification at this level. Listed teleconference rate is for training certification in CRPG or SRPG.
